DELUXE HIKING PACKAGE*

Located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains there is no better place to stay if you are looking for a true Adirondack Experience. The inn sits on the shore of historic Big Moose Lake. The lake is over 4 miles long and 1 mile wide and the Inn provided kayaks and canoes for our guests to use to explore the shire line. Within ten minutes on the Inn there are over a dozen hiking trails ranging from .5 miles to over 5 miles. We provide maps and trail summaries indicated how challenging or easy each one is. DAY ONE: Following a continental breakfast overlooking Big Moose Lake, visit the scenic village of Old Forge and travel upon the Old Forge Cruise Ship. Go past historic great camps and homes and breathe in beauty only really experienced by boat. Later, explore the wilderness on one of the many hiking trails in the Big Moose area. Return to the Inn for a complimentary glass of wine at our Tavern before dinner.

DAY TWO: Step back in time and take the Adirondack Scenic Railroad through the wilderness. Then explore the more remote parts of Big Moose Lake with one of our canoes or kayaks.

Day 1, Paddle downstream on the Middle Branch of the Moose River from Tickner's dock in Old Forge to their private train stop along the historic Adirondack Scenic Railroad. Yes, you and your canoe (or kayak) travel back to town via this vintage train! Approximately 6 miles of the scenic Moose River. (leisurely 4 hours).

LAKE CRUISE (2 Hours):
Day 2, Experience the natural beauty of the central Adirondacks aboard the Clearwater. Follow the old steamboat route through the first four lakes of the Fulton Chain. View great camps and landmarks along with nature's characters that line the colorful banks. 22 miles round trip.
